So, last night I am shopping at the grocery store and my husband calls me to tell me that he just totalled his new GMC Envoy!
I left my cart and drove to the scene to be with him.
No one was seriously injured in the accident..
My husband hit a woman in another Envoy. She ran the red light and my husband T-boned her on her drivers side. Thankfully, two witnesses stopped and told the police that she did run the light and my hubby was NOT at fault. She was denying it, trying to say the last time she looked up at the light it was green.. The cop told her that the accident was 99.9% her fault. She was all pissed. Umm Hello! You know you caused this accident. I wanted to smack her!
We already called the insurance company and told them about it. DH is waiting to hear back from someone in claims. Luckily, we have a friend that has an extra car, so he was able to drive himself to work this morning. Hopefully, we can get a rental car out of her though.
DH was not hurt but his airbag never went off, which is strange.. His neck hurts this morning though. Should he go to the doctor or just wait and see if it is just stress. (That is what he thinks it is. He wasn't going fast enough to hit his head or anything.)
The entire front end is pushed in.. Lost the grill and bumper.. Hood is all bent and the quarter panel on the right side is wrecked and pushing against his tire. We are waiting to find out if the damage is fixable. I think if the engine and radiator is okay, it MAY be fixable.
He is soo depressed. That truck is his baby! I feel so terrible for him and us. With all of our kitty issues, this is the last thing we need. We just can't get a break.
FRANK UPDATE!!!
Now that I've mentioned it, Frank is doing better. He started eating on his own over the weekend. The vet is going to remove his IV and start giving medicine orally. If he keeps it down and continues to do well, he can come home on WEDNESDAY! We are soo soo thrilled. Thank you again for all of your thoughts and prayers!
I am so sorry about the accident! I can't believe it when people who hit other people and are at fault STILL insist on blaming the other person!!! Who does that??? You should tell you DH to go to the doc, or at least a chiropractor. Even if he didn't hit his head, hard impact like that could have done damage to his neck, or threw his back out which can cause major pain. You should also talk to the dealership or someone about how his airbag did not go off, that is a BIG problem and they could get sued for that big time.
I am soooo happy to hear about Frank!!! Keep hangin' in there kitty!!!
I'm so sorry to hear about the accident, and I'm glad everyone is ok. I think he should go get checked out... I've learned that it's better to be safe and sorry. It'll ease both your minds to know fully that he's fine. I got rear-ended a few weeks ago, and the girl who hit me tried to play it off like it was my fault. She said my break lights weren't working, when, infact, they were (all three of them). Some people! It makes me nervous that his airbag didn't deploy. Does the car have to be going a certain speed for it to work? Definitely check into that, like Luv2shop suggested.
But with bad news comes the good, right? I'm so excited to hear about Frank! I was wondering how he was doing. Yay, I hope he gets to come home Wednesday!
