I am so mad at Meredith. i understand that she's heart broken, but I just can't feel sorry for her anymore. I can't really explain why.
And I guess I'm more mad at Dr. McDreamy - I know they are married & they should try to put their marriage back together, yada yada, but he doesn't seem committed or something.

Last night's episode was a little weak in my opinion. I did like Alex talking to the girl about a first kiss--I thought that was sweet. But when he swooped in the bar and kissed Izzy, I thought that was a little over the top.
Meredith is bugging me too. She needs to grow up. Slap on a happy face and deal with it...Dr. McDreamy is essentially her boss, so she needs to stop ignoring him and just move on.
One question: Okay, so Dr. McDreamy and Addison lived together in NY and she had an affair with his best friend. He moved out to Seattle to get away from her, which is where he met Meredith. How does everyone in the hospital know Addison if she's never lived in Seattle? They all knew he was married and all seemed to know her when she came into town. Is this a big hole in the plot, or is there something I missed?
I honestly think they are just setting things up for McDreamy and Meredith to end up back together. Him and his wife are so opposite and just don't seem to have any chemistry together. I don't think they will last. I think he'll end up back w/Meredith and that his wife will be working at the hospital still, which will create a whole new storyline. I just think he is still in love w/Meredith and won't be able to get over that and the fact that his wife cheated on him. I think the only reason he's trying is because he's married to her and figures it's the right thing to do.

This is my take: Addison is some brilliant neonatal surgeon so the medical community knows about her. When a renowned surgeon comes to a hospital, a big deal is made of it. The Chief seems to personally know Derek and Addison, which probably started out professionally. I think that is why Derek decided to go to Seattle--the Chief, an old friend, offered him a job there.

That was my take on it as well. I believe the Chief originally asked Derek to come to Seattle. Seems they all go way back or something.
Oh I agree NCShopper - I thought the whole Alex/Izzy kiss was a little over the top and cheesy.
I don't know if I like Meredith now. so weak, man. And I have said it before, McDreamy is too annoyingly wishy washy these days, can't stand him, even though I love Patrick Dempsey, this character is so unmanly to me, what does Meredith still see in him??
I am really starting to like Alex and Izzy and I loved how honest her little hallway lecture was to him, plus I loved the kiss at the bar, though I do think she is probably too good for him.
What's up writers? How can they turn a total jerk (Alex) into a sweetie pie, and turn a really cool and confident girl (Meredith) into a desperate pick-me-love-me. I wish she would just be like, "NEXT!!" These character shifts are pretty unrealistic to me and causes a little bit of detachment as a fan. I know people are complex, but the writers really gave impressions that were to the extreme of where they are now. I know I am so picky....I just love this show though and I want it to be perfect I guess!
I definitely like Dr. Burke a lot, but I won't get too attached because the writers will probably turn him into a loser pretty soon anyway.

I dunno, one of the reasons I like the show is cause the characters are realistic to me. There are irritating and redeeming qualities to each of them. I think I have a favorite and then BAM, something happens to make me be mad at them or like someone else better. There's nobody who is so obviously the protagonist or the villain.
But I do think things that happen on the show are exaggerated. That's why it's good tv. If it were too realistic, why would we watch it? It's kind of a surrealist take on ER. Slightly less ridiculous than Scrubs (which, p.s., is the most brilliant show on television--well, whenever it comes back on it will be. . .).
