I am a casual dresser- I am not good with dressy stuff. Even out at night I look pretty casual. I don't know how to dress at night to save my life. and while i love pencil skirts and "work" clothes- i feel like a dweeb in them and own very very little Banana Republic, Gap, Express, Theory, and the ilk. I don't have a single pair of plain pointy pumps or plain grey or black "work" pants. I don't own a suit. I barely wear makeup- some light berry lipstick and maybe some blush- eye makeup rarely. Most of my clothes are pretty random- indie designers/more established designers, Anthropologie, some J. Crew, some vintage... I'm so excited that I don't have to look "business casual" at work. I like things that are sort of funky and unique but still comfortable. Though I have a weakness for preppy all-american basics a la J. Crew- i love riding boots, cashmere sweaters, pearl studs- must be my preppy roots. but i still can't do dressy!!
have to say casual. I have almost no reason to dress up anymore, I attend maybe one wedding a year, a Christmas party, that's about it. I am good at dressing up when I have to, but now that I don't do it much anymore, I get annoyed at the time and effort it requires. I think it's better to just have good make-up, hair, grooming, and accessorizing skills.

I'm way better at dressy, and that's probably because I have to dress up 5 days a week for work. I really love those type of clothes. I'm not that great at doing casual though, every time I try, like on weekends, I feel like I don't look put together.
like shopchicago33 i'm better at dressy b/c of work. i wouldn't call it business casual in the standard (corporate) sense, more like creative casual, b/c i kind of just wear whatever, except denim. casual style is harder for me b/c i'm lazy. it's funny as much as i love clothes & fashion, if i don't have to go anywhere i won't get dressed. and even if i do go out unless i'm going to see people i know, i pretty much have a standby look that i rock.
in a way, i kind of like getting dressed to go to work (well not the no denim part) b/c it's forced me to be more creative in how i dress, since i can't just fall back on jeans.
I'm better at dressy. Like, honey, I wear 'creative casual' most days. I'm allowed to wear jeans, but I rarely do. Being able to dress like this for work is the only good thing about this job.
I'm way better at casual dressing. I pretty much have no occaison ever to dress nicely so I have no idea what's appropriate and I always have to buy stuff.
Dressy...I too pretty much wear whatever I want to work within reason, except for denim. It's forced me to be much more experimental with new shapes and interesting color combos. I couldn't handle wearing pure business casual because it's usually so boring. When I buy things now, it's in the hopes that a piece will work both for casual and dressy. When I do casual well, it's because I'm wearing pieces in a dressy buy still comfortable way.
I'm not good at dressy in terms of formal party type stuff, but I'm better at dressy in terms of work. I love my work clothes, and I always feel so sloppy on the weekends. I want to be able to live in high heels!

I don't think I'm good at either, really. I think I do the business casual thing alright, but when it comes to weekend casual, I'm not so great. On weekends I tend to do jeans and a tee shirt, when really, I could do a lot better than that. For dressy occaisions, I do pretty well, but I don't have the opportunity to dress up all that often.
I am good with evening dressy - everything from jeans and "going out" stuff to fancy stuff. I don't do casual very well, at all. And I suck at career work-wear, b/c I refuse to get jobs where I have to dress conservatively business casual. I need to get some ideas from all of you!

Oh, gosh, I have major problems with this kind of dressing! I hope that I don't get a job that requires that kind of dress everyday. I get so bored! None of the places I'm interviewing are like that, so that's good, right?
dressy, hand down. I love to dress up for work, dress up even more for dinner... love it! Whenever I dress down I feel sloppy- I can't wear jeans with sneakers unless I'm going for a walk or somrthing like that. It just drives me crazy!
Sometimes I wish I could pull off the cute casual look.
I also think I'm more DRESSY, but can also be dressy-casual. I never was much of a jean fan, but i do have a few prs. at home, that are just SITTING in my closet! LOL I LOVE to dress up, for work, going out, just to LOOK NICE period.

I think I fall somewhere in between, which is why I'm such an Anthro fan. I'm hardly ever very casual, like I never wear jeans and a t-shirt of hoodie. While I'm over dressed compared to my coworkers, I don't consider myself dressy. 90% of the time you find me in a skirt with a sweater or silky top. I stick with simple assessories for work and change out to funky, edgy-er assessories for dinner out w/ friends or going to a show.
I dress casual, since my job does not require business dress, but I am not talking jeans with a tee and tennis shoes. I usually wear jeans (I am in love with my trouser jeans) but sometimes a pair of pants in black, khaki, grey, or navy, with a solid color shirt or sweater. I am trying to break out of the solid color thing, but it is so easy for me to fall back on. Shoe-wise, I usually wear flats or boots in the winter and low heels or flips in the summer. I would not call my style dressy at all, but I don't feel put together in jeans and tennis shoes, either, unless I am shopping or walking a lot.
I wish I could dress dressier to work, but I work in a lab AND am very clutzy--not a good combo!
hum for most part i would say casual because that is what iam use to for my work- but i do like to dress up on my off days wish i could dress up more when i work my early shift 6-2 but heels would not work when we do the excerise tapes or go to the gym
I think I definitely do casual much better than dressy....It's probably because I'm way more comfortable in being casual for my daily wear; I love dressing up too, but I prefer casual over it
