Fall Wedding Outfit - Pic added
Permalink Closed

It's been awhile since I've been on here...

I have a wedding to go to next weekend with a good friend.  It will be the first time I'm meeting his family.  What do I wear????  Pants?  Dress? Skirt?  I'm freaking out just a smidge.  Any thoughts?

Is there anything I can do with this...

In this fabric/color...

Maybe with a sweater?  Or is it too summery or dressy?  I wore it as a bridesmaid dress this past June.

What color is that? I really can't tell from the picture - it looks ivory? I'm not trusting my eyes since it was a bridesmaid dress....

It's kind of more champagne.

I wouldn't wear it for two reasons:  1.  You could end up looking like a bridesmaid, and 2.  Champagne is too close to white to wear to a wedding when in solid-dress form, especially with so many brides wearing champagne/ivory colored dresses themselves.

I would go with a dress/shrug combo - classic and appropriate, but you can still look cute yourself.

Are you looking to buy new?

LMonet. Thanks for the advice ;) I kind of wanted to buy something new. I'm going shopping this weekend, but I wanted to have a bit of a game plan for what I was looking for.

I'd like to do something in the vein of a romantic, classic, soft look. I'm really into warm colors right now. Gold, browns, reds, etc.

I have one outfit that could work, but I'm not really feeling it. It's a white, off shoulder-ish sweater with a taupe tweed skirt. It's just not screaming "wedding attire" to me. I've honestly never been to a fall wedding where I wasn't in the wedding, and I'm feeling completely clueless. Especially since I'm meeting pretty much all of his family at once. Yikes.
