LOS ANGELES -- Australian actor Heath Ledger and fiancée Michelle Williams are the parents of a daughter, according to a published report.


The baby, named Matilda, was born Friday, according to People magazine. Ledger's publicist, Mara Buxbaum, had no comment on the report.


Ledger, 26, and Williams, 25, play husband and wife in the new Ang Lee film, "Brokeback Mountain," which is set for release later this year.


Williams starred on the popular TV series "Dawson's Creek."


Ledger recently starred in "The Brothers Grimm" and the skateboard movie "Lords of Dogtown."
