Hi gals...


My recent pap smear results came back abnormal.  I have to go in tomorrow for a colposcopy.


I have had many abnormal pap smears through the years and at one point had to have one every 3 months.  I had to have a colposcopy years ago back in high school...and it turned out okay, but I am still kind of nervous.  It is a rather uncomfortable procedure if they end up doing a biopsy and then the waiting for the results will be hard.


I am just going to think positive thoughts and would appreciate any thoughts sent my way.

Kari - I've been there too.  About 4 years ago I had an abnormal pap, had to go in for the colposcopy, then a biopsy, and finally some minor surgery - turns out i had some abnormal cells. After all that, I had to go back for a pap every 3 mos. for 1  year.  Everything has been normal since.  If you need to talk, pm me   I'll be sending good vibes your way - everything will be fine

Definitely sending good thoughts your way.  I had some gynecological issues myself a few years ago resulting in a biopsy.  Not very fun, but you'll get through it.  After your procedure today, get a pedicure or have a massage or a facial to treat yourself and relax afterwards.

I've actually had the same procedure done about a year ago and it wasn't too bad (just like a pap, it is more ackward/uncomfortable than anything).
