Quick! Should I get this Nanette Lepore outfit?!
Permalink Closed

Okay I already bought something for my little girl's baptism this weekend.  I ended up getting a white lace blouse and velvet bolero jacket by free people.  however, I just saw this outfit on the NM website, it's a great deal for Nanette (my new favorite designer), but first of all:

is it cute/do you like?

is it too summery/springy for right now? It's tiny gingham (which I am not a fan of generally, but I think this might work).  Also, it's nice out right now here in DC

is it a good choice for a baptism??

This is kind of an emergency so I'd like to get opinions as soon as possible if you don't mind.  Thanks to anyone who can help me out!!

ETA--okay it would hel if I attached the outfit:

It is a really good deal for this suit.  I really like it and think it would be cute for the baptism.

Thanks, heather, for your opinion and for posting the pic.  I'm glad you like it but I'm still a little undecided.  Anyone else?  This outfit is beckoning me--they have my size left in both pieces.

Thanks also gypsyfreak, just saw your post!

Anyone else have any opinions, positive or negative?  My husband's irritated with me because I just got the other outfit from nordstrom.com, and now if I get this I'll have to pay to have it overnighted.  Should I skip it or is it too cute to pass up--I really can't decide!  Please help!

I was eyeing that too - such a good deal - I would go for it - you might kick yourself later! I do hope you at least have it in your cart!

I think you should get it.  I don't know about wearing it now, though--it does look a little spring/summer-ish.  But I don't know what it looks like in real life.  Do you love the other outfit you bought?  Is it possible to wear that outfit and buy this one just to have in your closet?  It's SUCH a great deal, and if you get it to wear next year when it gets warm, you won't have to worry about overnight shipping. . .

I think the outfit is very sweet and special and, therefore, great for the baptism!

I think you should wear the Free People stuff you got, better for the season.  But get the suit too, you'll surely have something to wear it to, like Lucy's first Easter.  The suit is definately better for spring/summer, imo.

I agree.  That is a beautiful suit but looks springy to me.

Thanks everyone for the great advice.  I decided to pass on it last night for the bapstism b/c they couldn't guarantee delivery by Friday (even with overnight shipping).  I tried on the Free Ppl outfit and hubby didn't like it--he actually said that the empire waist made me look fat (but quickly added the obligatory "and youre not" so I didn't care).  Anyway, that outfit is going back.  Then I tried on my Tocca dress with my purple pashmina (are they too out??) and it looked good so that's what I will be wearing, weather permitting.  However, I was very hesitant to past up the Lepore dress so this morning after reading some of the other responses, I decided to order it anyway just to have (great idea ejc).  Thanks esp. to FP for mentioning that I could wear it as an Easter dress--that's exactly what I plan to do (and how I can justify buying it to my hubby),  Great ideas, everyone, thanks again--I so love this forum!!
