I have been busy!  I painted my living room the peach color (painting is hard work!)  My furniture came in, carpets got professionally cleaned, and now all that's left is a few more pieces of furniture and decorating!  I ordered a leather bench/coffe table/ottoman thingy from Overstock.com which will go in front of the sofa.  I'm thinking behind the sofa I should put a sofa table.  I need to find two end tables and a curio cabinet to put my crystal collection in.  Any more decorating ideas?

Chair and ottoman with my white throw from Bluefly.  In the window is a lovely crystal tea light holder that I got a set of two at Macys for only $13.99 on clearance!  Plus my super deal $25 TJ Max lamp that needs to be put on a table:



So you get an idea where the sofa is from the chair and ottoman:



The sofa which needs a sofa table behind it and art on the wall.  Plus I got those brown micro suede pillows with down filling (no getting flat!) for only $15 each at Linen's and Things today:

Very pretty, but may I suggest that you pull the couch away from the wall and angle it toward the chair?  That way, you'll be accomplishing 2 things:


1.  taking advantage of the view from both windows


2.  visually "pulling" people into the room


The sofa table you'll be getting will anchor the back of the couch so it doesn't look like it's floating.  Of course, I don't know what's on the opposite side of the room, either.  Is there a wall, or is it just open?


If facing each other won't work, maybe try angling the couch in a V or right angle w/ the chair.  I'm supposing a TV cabinet of some sort will be on that wall we can't see?


4 dark brown curtain panels hung high and left just hanging will look so pretty between the windows spaces of that biggest window!

Thankyou everyone!  MissMee, good ideas.  I really like the ideas of the brown curtains.  That should really put the room together!  I originally planned to angle the sofa to the chair wasn't quite sure that it would work out.  I still have my ottoman/coffee table coming that has to fit in too.  I will move things around when it comes and see how it looks.  The wall that's not pictured is a double sliding wood doors into the foyer and across that is the dining room.  No TV in here, this room is a stress free zone for relaxing, reading, and visiting.  There is two speakers above the sofa built in the ceiling that I control from the family room.  It is pretty nifty!  Now if I could just get my hands on a 20% off Linen's N Thing's coupon...hoping to find on in the advetisement section of the Sunday ads...

I love your color combo.  I can't wait to see it when you have finished it!


I think it would be cool to throw in some mediterranean and beachy touches to it-- a colorful painting on the wall, a large conch shell, etc.  Great room!

There was no LNT advertisement in my newspaper!  All I want is another 20% off coupon (especially for whole purchases) so I can buy a bunch of stuff I need!  I refuse to buy anymore stuff from their store without that coupon since I know they have them often!
