Who are you rooting for?


I'm rooting for Astros!! I'm so excited that they are going to their first world series! I'm not sure if you guys know, but here in Houston it's has been declared no white socks weekend. Everyone is stomping on their white socks.

I didn't know about the no white socks here in Houston so I will make sure to stay away from them until next week and spread the word

yeah, Mayor Bill White declared "no white socks weekend" at the pep rally. They had a pep rally in Downtown this morning and Clemens and Biggio were there. They presented them the trophy... I saw it on tv and they showed people stomping on their white socks.

Go Astros!!!! I'm so excited for them, too! My parents said they went to Academy to try to find a NLCS baseball hat for my dad and there were people in line there for four hours!! All for a hat! It's crazy but I'm really happy for Houston.

It's not the Angels so it really doesn't matter to me. But, since it's the Sox's fault that the Angels aren't playing anymore, so I can be part of the fun and since it sounds like you all like the Astros... GO ASTROS!!!! 


 


p.s. Where are the Astros from?  And what's an Astro?

Astros = Houston (not sure if that was your question)


and I think Astros is shortened from Astronauts since NASA is huge here. The mascot for a while was Orbit I believe -> This green space alien (in a cute way)


Claudia - I heard about the pep rally but didn't go.  A few of the people from my client went. If we win though I'll be at the parade work or not!!

Astros: Baseball (is there an abbrevation?)


Astrodome: arena


They didn't do it with the Texans nor with the Minute Maid Park.

MLB is the Baseball Abbrevation


I think we ended up with minute maid because it was Enron Field   Can't have a sponsor that can't afford to pay the naming rights and laid off thousands in houston in their downfall

Go Stros!! Im so excited (but really nervous) about tonight's game. 


On the otherhand, I also really can't wait for the World Series to be over b/c- DAMN- I need my life back.  These games have been consuming me!  I've been slacking in the homework department, haven't been running at night, and partaking in the drinking festivities for almost every game.  I am tired.  My pocketbook is tired.  I'm sure my liver hates me.

Obviously, I think most of you know I'm for the White Sox being a south side chicago girl.  Sorry, but we're kicking the  Astro's butts and are going to continue to do so!  It can't be fun being down 2-0 already!!!!

Believe me it's not fun!  I about had a heart attack on Sunday when Podsednik hit that homer in the 9th.  The stress!  The ups the downs!  I can't take it!!  It also doesn't help when the media is breaking it all down for you.... 78% of the teams that were up 2-0 went on to win the series.  I actually had a dream last night that the 3rd game had already been played & we lost.  I hope that isn't the case!

i really don't want either team to win.... it's the first time in a long time that i can't bring myself to pull for one team or the other.


i would root for the white sox because they could end a verrrrry long drought (1917!) and, trust me, i appreciate how good that feels.  but they beat the red sox in the division series, so i can't root for them in good conscience.  i just can't...


i don't really like/follow NL teams in general, so i'm not a fan of the astros at all.  there's the clemens issue and i just think that they're kinda boring i guess.  no great history/character, etc.  (the white sox definitely have the astros beat there, but they're most famous for throwing the world series, so..... )


sorry to all the ST white sox/astros fans!

if anyone should win in chicago it should be the cubs.  it's hard enough seeing white sox stuff all over the place, but to see cubs fans and even wrigley bars embracing the white sox....dispicable (hehehe).

FH went to a couple of their games really early in the season when he was living in Houston, so they are more 'home team' to us than the Sox .

hahah - I love it!!!  But I'm proud of you - there are way too many Cub fans rooting for the Sox and we don't need them!
