Good grief, mikacat, you have certainly had a run of tough luck lately! Hugs of course, and though I have no advice per se, I believe this wil be the right thing for your new daughter. Otherwise you'd have still been stuck in hell (and the obvious backstabbing atmosphere) of your old job. I truly believe you will be better off with whatever new job you find!

I didn't know that "come to me and I'll help you find a new job" was code for "Hey now, we're letting you go so you can find a new job"!! What a load of crap.

I mean, could you take an "ok" job just so you're not unemployed and then keep looking for something better?

I don't know employment law especially well but I feel certain you have one hell of a lawsuit on your hands. I think you should sue the pants off those bastards. I'm completely shocked and appalled that this happened to you. It's blatant discrimination and should NOT be tolerated.

As far as 14 weeks, I think you'll for sure find another job. And I think it's wonderful you're willing to move anywhere for the adoption to go through.

You deserve really good things and I'm sure they're just waiting to happen to you. Good luck!
