I absolutely love Law & Order and L & O: SVU. I do watch L & O: CI when I see it on, but I don't like it as much. I rarely watch the new episodes, but I live for the reruns.
I don't care for CSI or any of those spinoffs. It is cheesy to me.
my favorite is 24, too. i cannot wait for january.
i also like all the law & orders, especially the original. and i'll watch csi or csi miami if they're on and i'm home. i like without a trace, too, though i'm not sure why and i haven't watched it lately.
sigh...farrah, now you've got me thinking about jack bauer again...

i still like the original law and order, but i'm kind of anti-fontana. nothing will bring my jerry back, but i think they could have found a better replacement.
actually they need an all-star l & o cast that would include: vincent d'onofrio, diane neal, sam waterson and mariska hargitay.
Law and Order, especially seasons 3-10? Orbach seasons anyway. I love Without a Trace as well. Call me silly, but I do love the occasional Matlock rerun. I used to watch Magnum, P.I., Rockford Files and Hunter a lot too. Guess I've always been a junkie. I'm not a big fan of C.S.I., though. I do watch it occasionally, but in general I find it to be a little cheesy. It can be over-acted and far fetched for me. A little too stylized at times as well. I LOATHE C.S.I Miami. It is way too graphic for my taste, and I think David Caruso is a ham. Way too cocky. Never liked him. I do like Gary Sinise, so I've watched CSI NY a few times. I think that's my favorite of the three.
ETA- My all-star L&O cast (alive right now) is Chris Noth, Hargitay, Merkerson, Waterston, Angie Harmon and Hill (the old D.A.).
omg, i am sooooo adicted to these shows! i actually never considered 24 to be in the same category as l&o or csi, but i suppose it kind of is. that's my fave, although i only started watching last season (and i also borrowed first season which was great). i watch every csi/l&o show & it's spinoffs if i am home, but i don't schedule around them like i do for 24 (actually last season we taped 24 & watched it at work during lunch... so fun to watch w/ friends!). i also love w/o a trace and sometimes watch missing (aren't they on at the same time? i think i only watch missing when woat is on reruns). and actually, when i have cable, i even like the real crime dramas like on a&e or whatever. sometimes i think i should have gone into that, but when i see them smear that cream on their upper lip to examine a dead body, i reconsider!!
The original Law and Order with Jerry is my favorite, but I think Chris Meloni and Mariska Hargitay are great together in SVU. The problem I have with the SVU shows are the nature of the crimes, they bother me more than the garden variety murders on the regular L&O. I am having difficulty warming up to Fontana as well. Gotta feel for the guy!! Jerry is a hard act to follow.
I live Cold Case Files as well. I have seen only 2 or 3 episodes but I liked them.
erin The All-Star L&O is a great idea!! Somebody call the producers!
I really LOVE L&O: SVU but that's probably because sex crimes are interesting to me. It's one of my "focus" when I become a psychiatrist. I haven't seen the new episodes but I'll probably dl it or something.
Criminal Intent is awesome. Vincent D'noferio(sp) is awesome. The whole solving thing on the show is awesome. Just awesome all around.
i loooooooove law and order! the original is still the best. i could seriously watch it all day long. lenny briscoe (jerry orbach) is my all-time favorite cast member! i love his sarcastic quips- my friend and i have this thing that we do when we watch briscoe on l&o. everytime he busts out with some great one-liner, we yell, "ooohhhhhhh! you just got lenny-ed!" we're dorks. anway, l&o is the ultimate crime drama.
i'm also a big fan of svu- mariska hargitay (spelling) and chris meloni are great together. i have to be in the right mood to watch it though. i definitely won't watch it when i'm home alone! the storylines creep me out a lot more than regular l&o.
