pearl necklace questions

I'm looking at some pearl strands on overstock.com.  is there any other reputable online shop that sells pearl jewelry at reasonable prices?

other general questions, pls excuse my ignorance:

If I want to double loop the necklace, what length should I purchase?

What does "AA quality" mean?  Is it good?

What size pearls should I go for?  I see 6mm to 8mm.  I am not especially skinny or heavy, but I don't have a beautiful swan neck either.  I don't want to buy anything that's too big or small in comparison to my facial features/neck.  I have relatively small facial features and a large bust, if that helps.

To loop over your head, you will need at least ~ 40". Alternatively, you can use a pearl shortener and buy a shorter necklace - the pearl shortener (technical term, AFAIK, though they are used to shorten all types of necklaces) will hook the two ends of a long necklace together to make it a two-strand necklace. This is my preferred method, because the two strands totally stay in place.

"AA" quality...without seeing in person, quality descriptions can be very subjective, so take it with a grain of salt. What most people look for in pearls though (whether real or fake), is a smooth nacre, consistent size and color, and a nice "pearly" shine.
