Anyone have any of her stuff or seen it in person? How's the quality?
I was browsing/dreaming on ylang-ylang (hoping for some birthday-list inspiration) and came across it. I can't tell if it's awesome, or if I just love it because I am a major sucker for quotes and I am into metal jewelry these days.
"The experience of this sweet life" - Dante Alighieri
"I send my truth to you" -C.Haymes
"Sing in me Muse, and through me tell the story" -Homer
"By words the mind is winged" - Aristophanes

I've never seen her stuff IRL, but I've noticed it in Sundance before. In fact, I was just browsing there and found this beauty:
cicero necklace "The spirit is the true self." These words from Cicero, a great Roman scholar and writer, are hand engraved upon the tab set to one side of Jeanine Payer's delicate chain. 18kt gold with S-hook and eye clasp. Charm is sterling silver. Handmade in USA . 16"L.
I just love it.
Edited because I had to add this one:
Sliding freely along silver links, a talisman extends an invitation from Rumi, the 13th-century Sufi poet: "Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there."
I must be a sucker for quotes too.

I've been a fan of Jeanine Payer for years. Her stuff is very well made. All of her engraving is done by hand (hand engraving is a lost art, but is quite beautiful). Her stuff is very unique IMO...and some of the quotes/poetry verses she uses are not as common, so I really appreciate that. All of that being said, if you want to buy Jeanine Payer, I recommend purchasing her work at one of the following places:
yea, i definitely think so, because they are unique. especially for you, halleybird, because you seem (like me) to be a person to whom words have meaning and special-ness. which piece are you thinking of getting?

ahhh, you know me so well. I have a little while to decide, but I think I definitely want a ring or a bracelet, because I want to be able to look at it when I wear it (and I want it to be subtle enough so I can wear it every day). These are my favorites so far:
:"for as long as it lasts let the singer be the song. for as much as it's worth let the truth outweigh the lies. for this single moment let my own voice be heard." (I like this one because it reminds me of journalism, and writing)
plus these rings I already posted:
I also like this bracelet, and the quote reminds me of teaching, but it's pretty pricey:
"Come to the edge," he said. They said, "We are afraid." "Come to the edge," he said. They came. He pushed them and they flew." -Apollinaire
It's hard, because I want a quote that is meaningful to me, but I am picky about the design. I have about a month and a half until my birthday, so I have some time to make up my mind.
PS - thank you for posting those sites, jah!

i really LOVE the last bracelet, too. the first one is very nice, too--but halleybird, if you really love the last one, you should get it. it will make you happy every day when you put it on, so it's worth the extra money upfront. it's really really cool.
are you buying it for yourself, or making up your xmas list...?

Halleybird--ditto on what bumblebee said...her stuff is worth the price and IMO while it is the same $ as Tiffany it is so much more unique.
Just an FYI--through the giving tree gallery you can special order a piece of hers with the quote you want (any quote). So, if you don't find a quote you want and have one you really love, she will put it on a piece for you. Also, if you find a quote on one piece and wish it was on a ring, you can order that too!
My friends have her rings as "casual wedding rings". When they renewed their vows they had rings with quotes specially made and now they wear those instead of their regular rings when the occasion doesn't call for carats of diamonds (softball games, etc.).
