This girl from my retail job just called me and asked me if I could work for her on Wed. I already work Tues and Thurs and the days that I work there, I don't get home until at least eleven, so I'm away from my house from 7am-11pm and I just get really tired. There is no way that I can work three nights in a row. I'm already stressed with the commute (it took me over 2 HOURS to get home last night?!!) and I have other stuff going on (marketing for st, freelancing, jewelry, etc). I just don't have time and it's my right to not want to work three nights in a row there. Not to mention, the pinched nerve in my back that gets really angry when I'm on my feet for too long.
So, I told her that I just couldn't do it and she freaked out at me b/c she 'really needs off' (um, hello, then you should have requested it!!) and that I should work it. I told her that I was already working a full-time job, other part-time gigs and that my commute is over an hour and she was like, 'you should work for me b/c I really need off.' And I told her again that I couldn't and she hung up on me!! Seriously, wtf??? I'm ready to quit this second job b/c it's just added stress that I don't need.
I agree, not your problem. Why didn't she offer to switch shifts with you?? Would that work?? Not that she deserves it. Yeah, don't bother. I am amazed at people who feel you should do what they want just cause they want it.
