  I'm not sure what I think of it - If I decide by Monday I can be blonde(r?) again without spending any money ... what do you guys think?

While I think your blonde locks are super-gorgeous, you look really cool as a brunette too! I like the brunette because it seems edgier and more sophisticated.

I like the brown hair too.  I recently went a little darker for fall (not all the way brunette, but a lot of low lights), they did the bottom layer really dark for depth and it faded a lot, I mean a lot within a week.  That blonde of hair doesn't hold the dye as well, so I bet yours will fad and be that happy in between.  I actually called and made an appointment the day after I got my hair done for the week after to lighten it some and by the time the appt came around the color had faded and I had gotten use to it, so I cancelled.  Anyway, all that to say, I like the new color and don't think you need to worry about lightening it


Sorry if that isn't completely coherent (sp?), but it's late, and I'm tired ... off to bed I go.

I love it! I think you should keep it throughout fall/winter and in the summer maybe add a few hilights - I am a brunette also and I really like to make changes to the color with the seasons.

I really like it. And I agree with FP, it will probably fade a bit in time.  Going dark definitely takes some getting used to, but I think it looks really good.

i think you look really great a brunette! highlights may be good to add more depth and to make sure that the color isn't too flat. just a thought, have you considered getting your hair cut more? with the darker color, i feel that your hair looks heavier (does that make sense?) and maybe add some more layers or thinning it out will not weigh down the hair/color so much. but even without the cut it looks great!

Thanks for all your kind words ladies -


I've had some strange reactions to my hair - a few of my friends were totally disgusted by it (they had already told me not to do it in the first place.)


I've only had a few people tell me they really love it, but not so much that it's better than blonde, but as good as -


I'm just so uncomfortable, that I think I'm going to get some medium to dark blonde highlights, and maybe a few strands of lighter blonde (like the ones right by my face in the first pic.)


I've just got to admit, i'm not as brave as i used to be about this!  it drives me crazy that i am so worried about my hair color - it's showing me that i've developed insecurities that i didn't used to have. 


anyway - d'oh!  i was so hoping for the easy maintenance of an all over color!  oh well ...

i would wait a week before getting highlights. chances are, unless they filled your hair, it is going to fade a lot. you could always use cheap shampoo to speed up the process. even with allover color, your highlights should peak through. give it a week!
