hey bay area girls! question...
Permalink Closed

so i need a new job.  my current job is so boring that i want to cry- it's sucking the life out of me.  i'd love to work in fashion- either for a retailer or vendor/designer.  does anybody know of any good companies to check out?  i'd love to work in sales/marketing or merchandising/buying.  i'm NOT interested in working on the retail sales floor- i've done that and i'd really like to work more on the business/planning side.

obviously, gap, inc. is based in sf.  that's the big one.  but i think i'd be happier working for a smaller company.  i can think of a bunch of companies/designers based in LA/so cal, but i'm drawing a blank for the bay area.  can anybody help??

thanks so much!

Been thinking about this but I'm also drawing a blank... There are boutiques on 4th street in Berkeley, like Erica Tanov  (http://www.ericatanov.com/)- she also has a New York outlet so it might be something for you to look at; another idea is to try Jeremy's (on College st, Berkeley) - they carry designer salvage and sale Anthro, I always thought it might be cool to work for them - but it's only me, most likely not everybody's cup of tea... I don't know SF that well... Good luck!

Levi Strauss is based there, and I think that the Urban Outfitters chain is also (although I could be making that up).  Wilkes Bashford? Gump's (only home though, right?), Sue Fisher King, there is that great store called Atrium in Union Square.  I am trying to think of things that are specifically Bay Area.  Maybe I will post more later if I think of anything else.
