fairly lame business-wear question

this is probably really silly, but...is it okay to wear flats with a pants suit? i feel like a suit is "dressy" and so therefore only goes with heels, but maybe this is a personal misconception.  does anyone do this? is it okay in a work environment, or will i look like one of those clueless ladies who wear all one color and consider themselves chic? help.

I don't wear business clothes, but I have always thought it looked just fine.

depends on how cool your flats and pants are... I think bronze pointy flats peeking out from wide and deeply cuffed pant legs would look great - keep the top fitted with a shrunken blazer or fitted top/sweater.

i would think if the flats look dressy, you're good to go.

thanks, business ladies--just as i had suspected.

i thought that as long as the shoes were pointy-ish (ie. not ballet flats) and dressier (no rubber soles) it would be okay.  thank you.
