I have never watched the show but I just found out Molly Parker is in it, and I have enjoyed her in a couple of movies. What is this show about??

I sort of watch it.  I've been subjected it to it b/c the bf is obsessed.  I'm probably not much help b/c I don't really pay attention when it's on, but I know the basic concept is about a town during the Gold Rush (I think)...it's basically a wild, wild west concept.  Sorry, not too helpful.

ahem! I LOVE DEADWOOD!  I usually hate westerns (so corny so weird watching settlers "defend their land" from native indians and of course so annoyingly typical good guy bad guy shoot out at the local corral. . .) but Deadwood is amazing.  First of all it is really funny but you have to pay very close attention to what each person is saying to catch the "humor."  secondly it is really really well acted and I think much more realistic then all the "westerns" i've seen before.  it is a very gritty raw viceral show.  i hope more people start watching it.  dare i say it is better then the sapronos. . .
