ugh! this is just not my week. I got a traffic ticket for not yeilding to a pedestrian (who btw came out of nowhere), but my question is whether or not i can take traffic school to clear the point off my record so that my insurance won't go up...does anyone know? (btw i live in california)
if it's your first moving violation (or it's been >18 months since your last one), i'm pretty sure you can do traffic school. you will find out when they mail you the ticket, it will have traffic school info in it. (btw, i live in cali too, and i've done traffic school for both my speeding tickets which were more than 18 months apart) and a word to the wise... do it online! it's so easy & much quicker than being required to be in a boring class for 8 hours. good luck!
they'll send you a statement saying how much the4 ticket is and whether you're eligible for traffic school. If you are, then you can just pay the ticket and do traffic school. I get a ticket every 19-20 months or so (just got my 3rd ) and I always do traffic school. The trick is doing online traffic school! The one I do is http://www.comedytrafficschool.net/. They're 100% legit. You don't have to read anything. Just take all the quizzes, then when it comes to the final exam, just answer the questions. If you get too many wrong, then just write down teh correct answers, retake the test, and plug in the right answers. Takes a half hour at most!! I'll be doing this in the next few weeks
