my bf starts his new job tomorrow (training to be a teacher!) and i want to send something to him- food preferably but something small- maybe about $20 shipped? I already am sending him a pricier gift so i would like to keep it not that pricey. What are some good companies? Dean and Deluca? i don't even know! does anyone have any recs, espec. on certain gift packages. I know my grandmom always sends our family hams, but i doubt that thats appropriate =)
ETA: he's a boy, so nothing too girly or fatty (i think he's trying to be healthier?). he likes caramel popcorn from the beach and drinking tea, but not drinking coffee. dean and deluca seems like its $$ because of the brand name, any other options? where do they sell good popcorn tins?
lynnie have you thought about just going to a gourmet store and buying the stuff yourself. that way you know he'll get something he likes. also those companies that do food stuff usually have outrageous shipping costs and the food isn't that great.
for my bf's parents i often go to dean and deluca or whole foods and get something that will travel well like tea, chocolate, candies, nuts, baked good mixes, etc. i think it has a more personal touch if you go and pick them out yourself. sometimes those places like harry & david (although i love those pears) are super over-priced and have combos that i don't really want to eat.
i don't know... maybe i'm picky! but especially if you want the most bag for your buck, maybe think about picking stuff out yourself. just a thought!
yea, i would have preferred to do that, but i needed it sent by this morning. I picked something out, but i'm not gonna post it here because he knows my name and just in case he reads this post...(doubtful) but still want to keep it on the dl.
