I posted in Travel - wanted to post here for exposure. Can anyone give hotel reccs in NYC? I am *hoping* to pay around $200 a night for just a decent hotel (it's just for three nights) - is this even conceivable?
TIA!

Try www.quikbook.com. I did a search there and stayed at the Gershwin Hotel with my best friend. We got a room with our own bathroom and a queen size bed for $143 a night. It's defintely on the eclectic side, lots of young hipsters and European tourists...if that's your kinda crowd this will be fun. Plus the concierge hooked us up with seats in the orchestra for a sold-out performance of "Movin' Out" (BFF and I are crazy Bruce Springsteen fans.) and everyone was really helpful. Plus they'll store your bags before or after you check in if need be for around $1, IIRC.
