So I just got the catalog for fall.... Their prices are good and the leather looks nice. And there's a 20% off coupon on the catalog (CBS25 I think) so I am tempted (particularly by the flat boots, in black) Basically, I am just sort of surprised. Am I just being dazzled by low prices and comfort, or are these things kinda cute for fall basics?
Flat boots & bag -
Ok, so I got my gorgeous Rocketbusters in Santa Fe, and I love them more than I love some people, but these are great and only $150! You can't really see the blue in there, too, but it is. Anyway - this is just a heads up who liked the ones I boguht b/c these are similar but much more affordable if you can't commit to a lifetime of cowboy boots.
Just think these are cool. Also come in black:
Cute bag, very affordable and not quite a blatant knockoff ... and $79:
Not sure about these wedge boots, but could be cute in black. I felt inspired by Andrea Linett's last column in Lucky to look for black suede wedge boots:

very cute. I like the drawstring bag in the first shot, the artisan boots and the wedge boots. I don't think they look cheap at all. I can tell that bag is a kooba knockoff - but that's me and I'm probably more aware of that than the average joe... it just looks stiffer or something.

Ah, kooba - I couldn't remember who I thought it was knocking off...

i have to tell you a great retail trade secret. as some of you know i work at saks 5th avenue. i am on my feet alot and running from floor to floor pulling items for clients etc. it can be hard on the feet, painfully hard on the feet. in years past my shoe routine was my designer- begining-of-the-day-still-looking-cute-shoes (blahnik, prada, etc.) then UGLY basic flats from easy spirit for the middle-of-the-day-my-feet-are-killing-me-shoes and then i'd switch back to my sexy designer shoes before i went home/out to dinner/drinks/party so i could look cute in public (work is not public to me.) Well in the last two years i have gotten hooked on aerosoles and naturalizer. they aren't as cool as my designer shoes (no one can beat louboutin for hot sexy designer shoes) but they aren't ugly ass easy spirit shoes either. between aerosoles and natrualizer i have six pair of cute comfy decent quality shoes and my feet love me for it. i say grab those boots and you'll be happy you did.
*personal note* dc if your in doubt about the quality of the leather on the boots or the handbag there is a naturalizer store in wheaton mall (newly refurbished upgraded wheaton mall by the way) where you can try the stuff on first. plus wheaton mall has macys and target so it is a fun little stop for cheapie stuff. enjoy.
my mom checked out the kooba knockoff for me today and she said it looked really cheesy. I guess the leather wasn't good quality and the color wasn't very good. Just thought I'd let you know since I was interested in it as well. I wouldn't normally do a knock off, but as a college student I could never afford the original!!
