Just got Death Cab for Cutie's new record. Haven't even listened to it all the way through but I already love it. The first song is the perfect fall/winter musing music.

When are we getting more Postal Service?

I'm glad you said that - I've been waiting to hear from someone who's heard it. I'm going to get it soon now!

I haven't really heard of them. What kind of music do they play?

no! no no no!

although I can kind of see why. it was such a unique collaboration, and a unique sound, and really an iconic record--I can, sadly, see it being a one-off kind of thing. and anyway, i doubt i could love another postal service album as much as Give Up.

Fashion Freak--they are a rock band, but I can't think of anyone to compare them to that might give you reference. They have a very moody, ethereal sound. The lead singer/songwriter crafts these really intimate, introspective songs, usually about breakups and heartbreak actually--but his writing is so intelligent that it doesn't get tedious.
