LOL!! I have always wondered that too....I think the majority of the merchandise is stolen. My bf used to work at Gap, and during their "loss prevention" meetings, this is the information that they gave him.

i was thinking of posting the exact same question! hilarious. i was thinking employees using their employee discount to make extra loot?

I know for me sometimes I decide I don't want something & let the return period expire - then I sell on ebay sometimes with tags still attached - since this is a fairly new item I don't know if that's the case, but just to give a different perspective...I'd rather get $50 of an $88 item instead of zero if I gave it away.
