I went into one of my favorite consignment shops today and tried on a pair of beautiful Prada boots in my size. I found a picture on ebay, the ones I tried were black:
I liked them a lot and I don't have black boots, but they cost 150$ and it is a lot of money, and I've been spending lately. They weren't worn much, I would say only a couple of times, and looked gorgeous on. I do need a pair of black boots to wear with my gorgeous black coat, which I never wear because I don't have footwear to go with it. I'd appreciate your comments!
I would get them, but I find it very diificult to get nice boots. I paid $135 for my Kenneth Coles and I think they are worth every penny (and then some), so $150 for Prada sounds awesome to me. As long as you think you'll always like round toes and kitten heels, I say why not? If they do fill a need in your wardrobe, you're justified (as long as you can afford it of course. )
I also have the big calf problem. These end beneath my big calf area, so they fit. I have always loved round toe. Kitten heels I am less sure of. I like them now I can't wear super-high heels, and flat boots are not as flattering because I am not tall. Affording them is another problem. I can afford them, but I usually don't spend nearly this much money on a single item of clothing. Lately I've been trying to buy nicer, more expensive items (and trying to balance by buying fewer things) - but I am yet to find my golden mean. I can get them if I get nothing else in September, and I know it will be hard to do.
I say get em'!I'm looking for the perfect pair of brown boots myself...Tha almost have to be kitten heels. There are the only heels that wil allow me to stand for 9-10 hours without crying.
I voted for you to get them, but just make sure you aren't falling prey to the "Only $150 for Prada boots!" feeling. If you need black boots and you really love them on - not just blinded by the good deal - then I say go for it and don't look back!
