I almost feel bad being so happy (about the apt.) in light of the horrible turn of events in our country right now. I watch footage of the hurricane and start crying- it reminds me of two people I met in college that were both from New Orleans- both said I would really love that city. Now I pray for their families and them, for everyone down there, and I'm sad that the city will never be the same.
I was so stressed apt. hunting but I found a place!! It is in Clinton Hill, near to Williamsburg and Park Slope though not the most happening area itself, it is near other things and is a safe area. My room is pretty big (maybe 14 ft by 14 ft?), i have a closet, a window overlooking foliage, big french doors, and the place is decorated really cutely and the girl living there is awesome! Plus, my rent is only $650!!! i can totally afford to live there!! She met her previous roomie on craigslist, and I met him, he's been there for a year, so I know its a good living situation. he's just leaving to move in with his gf. I'm so stoked- I'll post pics in a month when I have the place decorated!! I can paint the walls, etc.
You lucky girl...moving into that awesome and adorable sounding apartment in Brooklyn! Have fun and take pics of the place! I'd love to see what you do with it.
YAy - dont' feel bad - it's great to hear some good news. I'm so happy for you. I can't believe you can paint in a rented spot - that doesn't sound like such a great big deal, but man I got tired of looking at neutral walls when i was in my apartments.
And you would have loved New Orleans. And maybe you still will someday. I'm holding out hope for another Mardi Gras one day - we'll meet up & party!!!!!!!
