I am thinking of trying to put in a lot of skirts and top it off with a jean jacket. Also I will be getting a lot of use out of my blazer for sure! And to use long necklaces and buy some cute earrings and bracelets to go with them!

A strange thing has happened to me.  I'm actually excited about the fall clothes that I'm seeing in the stores this year! I don't remember the last time this happened in the fall!  I plan to buy a completely new fall/winter wardrobe since I don't really have much of one for work.

I plan to center around the following colors:

  • Brown
  • Rust
  • Purple
  • Teal
  • Navy (!!)--this is strange b/c I never really was drawn to navy before, but I'm going to buy a few pieces
  • Of course, I'll be wearing pink, but I plan to wear a rich, rose pink for fall

I also want to buy lots of textured items: tweed, velvet, sweaters that I don't have an allergic reaction to, silk, embellishments, ect. I'll also be stocking up on round-toes b/c I'm obsessed! I want to buy lots of cropped pants, some trousers and several skirts. I will not be living in my jeans this year, unlike every other year since I can remember.  Jeans will be reserved for casual Friday and nights out.  I want get my fall/winter wardrobe to the level that my spring/summer wardrobe is at.  Whew...looks like I have my work cut out for me.

Oh yes, I forgot.  As always (for me, anyway), accessories, especially jewelry are of the utmost importance! I can't believe I'm excited for fall!

~*Edited & Updated*~

Now that there are more fall clothes in the stores, I'm getting even more excited. I really want a bunch of trousers and cropped pants.  I'm planning to buy short sleeve blazers.  Rampage (the store where I work my part-time job) has this awesome metallic gold/bronzish s/s blazer (almost exactly like the one Keri Russel wore on the cover of Lucky's March 05 issue). I was obsessed with that blazer and now I've found one that's almost like it!! And I get a discount on it!! YAY!!

Two other colors to add to my list: amber and cranberry. And I'm also obsessed with cloisonne jewelry right now, too.

Summer clothes .  That's Florida for ya.

For like the *3 weeks* when it's actually "cold" out I will probably be wearing jeans/cords, sweater/blazer over tank top or short sleeve tops, and clogs/ballet flats.  I've never been into fall clothes (I was the girl wearing jeans and a long sleeve top with flip flops ) but yall manage to look so cute during a season I typically think of as boring.  I'm going to try much harder to actually look fall/winter appropriate this year, but we'll see how well that goes .

I also want a lot of texture. Tweed, chunky sweaters. I'm into brown leather too, all different shades. I think my colors will be green, purple and brown (which I'm always into) as well as blue (a new addition). I'll also be wearing a lot of big ethnic jewelery as usual.

I imagine I'll be in mostly tanks or tees topped off with some sort of cardigan / shrug. I have been buying up sweaters like crazy even though it's still 100 degrees - but most of them are light weight. I am a big fan of tees, graphic, vintage, & otherwise, so I imagine they will go under blazers & hoodies as well.

I am also loving the idea of the skirts / denim jacket although I hadn't really thought about it much until I saw this post...thanks ranchera20!

I'm challenging myself to wear skirts for as long as possible into the fall. I love wearing them in the summer, but as soon as the weather gets a tiny bit colder, I stop. I've been trying to think of ways to layer on top so that I'll stay warm enough.

Other than that... I actually can't wait to get out my cashmere sweaters and stuff. I haven't thought much about color schemes... Nyabelle's makes me want to come up with one..

I've purchased like 4 pairs of cropped pants to wear w/ boots for fall.  As mentioned in previous thread I started somewhere, I've been drawn to mostly browns and a light magenta color.  And I have a bizillion pairs of jeans, so I'll be wearing a lot of jeans and light sweaters with my boots.  I'd love to find some skinny jeans to tuck.

I also have a couple of cute pin-striped blazers that I may wear, but I always feel stupid in a jacket.......

I think I'll be wearing a lot of skirts and cropped pants w/boots - I really like that look.  Also, I already have a ton of blazers that I'll be wearing.  I'm really into tweeds and herringbone.  I also plan to get a lot of chocolate brown and dark teal.

I've found some pretty cute looks that work for me this fall. I love fall, it's my favorite season.

-Wedges (That includes wedge boots)

-Skulls (Just a few pieces here and there that you ladies inspired me to buy)

-Gauchos (I have a jersey pair...so comfy and cute)

-Metallics (gold and silver ballet flats mostly)

-Destroyed denim minis with tights (Love the minis with patches)

-Flat boots (Love these when heels are out of the question)

-Bags with hardware (Preferably black bags with gold hardware)

-Anything Gold and Black together

-Long beads, or delicate gold jewelry

And I adore this look, and this hair style as well (although not together)-

As for makeup, that hairstyle with very neutral makeup should do it.

  • Gauchos

  • Shrugs

  • Def. SKIRTS (mostly knee length, some long)

  • The colors purple (deep purple)/teal (aqua)/brown

  • I still WANT to wear BRIGHT colors, even tho' it will be Fall, I'm SURE that's still allowed/OK.....LOL

I've pretty much put together my fall wardrobe -

Teal velvet blazer and ivory satin blouse

Vintage style teal/brown blazer, with matching skirt for a suit look

Brown cord skirt, violet trumpet skirt in a light tweed fabric

Ivory and Grey patterned cord blazers, with riding pants and stretch jeans (Isaac Mizrachi for Target.com)

A few new jeans, and a chunky shawl neck belted sweater in dark turquoise.

Cashmere sweaters, new and vintage, over long lace camis. Stop bidding against me on ebay !! (just kidding)

A faux shearling jacket in tan.

I'm still deciding about shoes and boots - I did buy brown suede kitten heels to go with the suit.

The only other major purchase would be a new bag, I love my cream Cole Haan Village tote, and I probably won't put it away until the snow flies.

Cheers, Janet

Well....I have been doing a LOT of fall shopping (what shopping ban? Thank goodness mine was in the summer for one month only...I have not imposed another because I knew I was going to like a lot of things this fall). I have suddenly been gaga over chocolate brown...mmm. And teal - haven't seen so much of it in stores since the 1980's, and I love that color. Also green - one of my favorite colors, and usually hard to find in stores - been stocking up on that too. So far I have bought:

- brown velvet blazer (Macy's)

- green cord blazer (JCP)

- orange cord blazer (JCP)

- (olive) green velet blazer (JCP)

- forest green cardi (JCP)

- fuchsia tie-front cardi (Express)

- brown/olive green/beige wool A-line skirt (Ann Taylor)

- brown wide-legged pants w/pink & white stripes

- red velvet Nine West pumps (Macy's)

- brown lacy Linea Paolo d'orsays (Nordies)

- black slingbacks (Nina, from Zappos)

- brown mid-heel suede pointy-toed pumps (Bandolino)

- brown suede sandals (Nordies)

- teal v-neck sweater (Limited)

- aqua v-neck cable sweater (Target)

- pistachio v-neck sweater (Ann Taylor)

- small pewter handbag (Limited)

- olive green suede frame bag (Nine West)

- black platform-y knee high boots (Unisa, DSW)

And I have my eye on a sweater at Banana, and a pair of cowboy boots on eBay (I already have a black pair, now I want some brown ones)

I can't wait for the temps to drop a bit so I can break out the fall clothes!! Temps are still in the nineties (or very high eighties) this week...ugh.
