New Yorker Festival panel on fashion
Permalink Closed

In case anyone is interested this year's New Yorker Festival, which runs from September 23-25 in Manhattan, has a panel on young American designers featuring Alice Roi, Behnaz Sarapour and Tara Subkoff.  It is on Saturday the 24th at 4pm.  Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Ticketmaster: http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/00003B0AC2ABA0B8?artistid=842040&majorcatid=10005&minorcatid=104

PS Tickets went on sale at noon and in my experience festival tickets sell out pretty quickly!

I was geekily poised over my keyboard at 11:55 and landed all my tickets! (it's hard - often they get sold out)

Mom and I will be attending:

- Town Hall Meeting on Iraq (Friday)

- Advocacy Journalism - Christiane Amanpour etc (Saturday a.m.)

- Religion and Politics panel (Saturday afternoon).

That's it.  unrelated to the festival itself, going to see the play "Doubt" that night and the next day hoping to see the exhibit about cameos at the Met (obviously this is my mom's idea...)

Sadly, yes.  That is the main thing preventing me from scooping up a bunch.  I was interested in this panel on musician/producers with Steve Albini and the RZA (and I think Ani DiFranco), which is at the same time as the fashion panel, and a Steve Martin thing with banjo players, but I HATE Ticketmaster and am sort of balking at the $5+ service fee.

ticketmaster does suck.  they have no shopping cart function (if they do, I can't find it), so you have to get each set of tix separately and pay a service fee each time.  So basically I had to do 3 different transactions and was freaking out about how long each one took b/c of how fast the tix sell out.  But the fee wouldn't stop me b/c this is a big highlight for me every year and a tradition with Mom...
