Mine is sunbeam and I like it very much - good weight to it and non-leaky. It was not $$ and has automatic shutoff (very important!). I also have a Kenmore one, I think, in Santa Fe and like that too. No need to spend much - $15-$25 will get you a solid iron.

I have a Sunbeam one too, which sounds just like dc's and I'm very happy with it. It was inexpensive and I got it at either Target or Walmart.

I have a Black&Decker with the teflon base (that was VERY important in the choice). I got it like 3 years ago at bed bath & beyons, it was ~ 30, and I love it!

we have a rowenta (my mother and sister swore by rowenta) and we love it. it was pricier but works very nicely.

) It is great. I have had it for about 5 years and it is still working great.
