With Carmen's F&F discount, (thank you, Carmen!!), I ordered:
in orange
in herb green
in hunter
and a couple of tank tops (haven't tried those on yet).
I got my order today - one item was backordered, so it shipped yesterday (I ordered on the 18th). I LOVE the first jacket, and if it came in more colors I wanted/needed, I'd order another. I got it for $19.99
I am debating on the second jacket - love the color (olive greenish) but not sure about the fit - it feels a bit tight across the shoulders. But the velvety feel is beautiful and I think it's very cute. $39.99
The cardigan is great too - it's acrylic, which isn't my preference, but it's so hard for me to find a good, dark green in clothes. and it fits me quite comfortably. Also $19.99
Please bear in mind that I am a size 6-8 (depending) for skirts and pants, but I have a 36C chest and "linebacker" shoulders - I'm very broad-shouldered, so I ordered the cardigan and the orange jacket in a size Large, and the velvet blazer in a 10 (which is indicated to be a size M--I would have ordered the 12 but I know from experience it won't be form-fitting enough in the waist). I know many of you have much smaller frames than I do, so bear this in mind if you order. There are still some good sale prices on the web site.
I don't usually shop JCP, but couldn't resist the prices, and I'm pretty pleased overall - the quality seems about average, and for the prices I paid, I'm happy.
Thanks again Carmen for posting the discount!
Jill

I really like that last sweater. I'm not a huge fan of Acrylic, but I can't wear wool, so Acrylic is a good option (cheaper than buying all cashmere sweaters, I would if I could, though...).
atlgirl - are you suggesting to size up in the cardigan? I would normally wear a small...also - what is the friends and family discount? I think I missed that thread..is it still good?
i saw that jacket in the orange the other day - i love it- iam still thinking @ it - may have to go get it!! and of course i love the green, i have been looking for one- love - love-
I'm suggesting that most of you will have to size down in the cord blazer - it's a bit big. The velvet one is probably pretty TTS (maybe runs a littlle small) and the sweater is TTS too, I think - it's cut a bit boxy though, so some of you will maybe want to size down in that also.
Shopgirl, I believe the F&F expired on 8/18. Carmen works at JCP and was kind enough to post the discount for us.
BTW neither of the tanks fit - cut too high under the arms - but they'll probably work for less curvy types - these are the Arizona Jean Co. Scoop tanks - running about $7 on the web site. They're soft as anything, and form-fitting. I wish they were a little roomier on top though! :(
Nyla, I'm not a huge fan of acrylic either, but sometimes (as long as it doesn't pill) I will go with it, esp. if it's in a hard-to-find color. And for only $20, if I get a few seasons out of it, it's paid for itself. *s*

NICE things, atlgirl!!! JCP seems to be getting better w/their clothes also, glad you scored some good deals. Sorry to hear those tank tops didn't work out.

Thanks, lovelylady! I do think the quality (on some items) has improved recently. Often the hardest thing for me is to get a good fit in things like tops & jackets. If they fit my shoulders/chest, they are almost *always* too big in the waist. And I have a good tailor, but sometimes I just want to buy it off the rack and have it fit, fergoshsakes. ~sigh~
I have so much to do in the next few days - no time to play with outfits, but I'm distracted by imagining all sorts of combinations (esp. with the orange/rust blazer) in my head. I, for one, am ready for fall! Sweaters and blazers and boots...my favorite time of year. *s*

How funny - I am a September baby too - my birthday is the 3rd. I think that the birthday shopping sprees my mom used to take me on are a big part of why I like fall, and also like my birthday time - I usually go shopping. *s* We always rolled my birthday and some major BTS shopping all into a wild weekend! I miss those days...
