*sigh* Interview today **UPDATEd AGAIN**
Permalink Closed

I have an interview today after work.  It's for a PR position and it sounds like something I would really like.  Keep your fingers crossed!

Update: The interview went really well (probably one of the best I've had). This position is my dream job. It's for a cosmetic dentist and it's actually PR, but I would also be working on ad campaigns, doing networking and schmoozing on behalf of the company, attending events and 21 days of paid training Florida.  I really felt like I connected with the people who interviewed me.  They'll be calling to set me up with a second interview.  Don't uncross those fingers!!!

2nd Update:  I guess they changed their minds b/c I haven't heard back from them again.  I've e-mailed a total of three times and called twice since I last heard from them. Looks like it's back to the drawing board.

YAY!! I got a call back for a second interview.  I actually have to go in for a full day for this.  Crazy.

I don't know how I'm going to get out of work for this.  But I don't really care b/c they pissed me off today.  Yesterday at the end of the day, they gave me a stack of about 600 checks to enter into the system (I have to do each one manually) and this morning I had a meeting about marketing stuff so I couldn't get to the checks.  They called me and yelled at me for not having them finished yet.  I'm so pissed. Whenever anyone gives me anything to do, they always want it finished yesterday and there's just no way I can do that.  I hate this place.

Sounds like you're just gonna have to be "sick" that day.

Yeah, I'm thinking of saying that I'm going back to my mom's house b/c she's taking me to the doctor's office where she works b/c there's a doctor there who can help my back (which is true, she's taken me there once before).  And since I don't have health insurance, it makes sense. And, my mom lives too far away from here for me to actually make to work and go to her house. Does that sound like a good excuse?

I think the simplier excuse is the best.  Literally just call in sick that morning.  When people start going into super long excuses it is usually b/c they are lying IMO.

Right, but I just called out sick on Monday b/c of my back, so everyone knows the situation. I can't really keep calling out sick.  It doesn't look very good, you know? I'd rather actually schedule a day off.

I think that sounds good. If they know you have back problems and you have no insurance, then they should understand that that's why you are going to the doc with your mom and you need the day off. I think giving that explination sounds real because you do have back problems, so it doesn't sound made up or like you are just calling in sick again.
Go for it and good luck again!!!!!

i agree.  if you're sick, you're sick.  you don't have to explain if it's coming out from this end or that end, etc...
