I really like it. I love watching them shop and seeing what they come up with. I get a lot of ideas as far a body type and clothes that may look good for me. I usually watch the last half hour or so. My friend thinks they are too mean, but I think most people are happy in the end so it cannot be that bad. Plus they get 5k to spend. They could be mean to me for a month for that!!!
yes i love it too. yes some of my friends think they are mean but like you say the people reliaze that stacy and clinton just want to help them, my husband used to make comments @ the price of clothes i told him come on its a once and life time chance to get made over and spend someones else 5k because you know once they come back home they will have to do some budget shopping- lol but at least they have the rules to go by and know what works for thier body type. yes i get good ideas on how to mix and match colors and different styles
LOL I watch WNTW almost every Friday, unless I'm out on the town or something. I think Stacy and Clinton are hilarious, not all that mean, but some things they say are kind of harsh, you just have to have tough skin in dealing w/them, and they do warn you BEFORE you accept their offer, so...LOL I also (when I can catch it) watch the BBC version of What Not To Wear; I have the Style channel at my house, it's just blacked out in my area, or I'd have to pay for, I always want to watch some of their fashion shows, like ILC mentioned the "How Do I Look", or "The Look For Less".......oh well. LOL

I love this show too - we TiVo it all the time. Stacy L. knows her stuff - fit and cut and drape - but she can be a bit b*tchy, IMO. But then Clinton steps in and he's like a big brother to everyone.
Now I'm going to have to look for "how do I look" because I've never heard about it before.

It's on Style Network all the time! I think they rerun it constantly (that, Foody Call-which by the way is the stupidest show ever, and The Look for Less).
I LIVE for this show...I am obsessed with Stacey - I think she is amazing!
Me, too. I love her.
I think this show does teaches that usually expensive clothes look better than cheap ones. I'm not sure if I think that's good or bad. They rarley ever show someone shopping at a less expensive store. But sometimes cheaper clothes can look great, I'd like to see them mix in some less expensive peices.
yes i love stacy although i agree she can be bitchy but i think it works well for the show- i love when she says " shut up"!! yes i know i cant afford expensive clothes like that but i take the rules and apply it to other less expensive ones along with color matching , etc. i think stacy and clinton work well together- they are cute!! hum wonder if they are a couple lol
I've seen both the UK and US version...I honestly find Trinity and Susannah way funnier than Stacy and Clinton, but S&C do keep me plenty entertained.
I do listen to them for suggestions and idea on fit and silhouette but a lot of the stuff they teach are rules I purposely try to break for the heck of it. So I can't apply them all to my wardrobe.
My BF does have a real problem with the show. He thinks that Stacy and Clinton move all the people towards a certain aesthetic, therefore losing any attempt one can have at personal style. I can't say I don't agree with him but it's like...come on these people don't know how to dress themselves period! It's defintely a step in the right direction.
You know the expression - Give a man a fish and he eats for a day - teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime - well - I think How do I look is giving a man a fish - other people are picking out their clothes...so they don't even get to try them on until the day of - plus they have to pick the whole wardrobe - even if they only like one outfit. I think WNTW is like teaching a man to fish, they learn HOW to shop - so they can apply it to their real life.
Ok I'm off my soap box...I need to go scour the streets for Stacey so she can help me out haha.
I lvoe that show, and I especially love Stacey. Gorgeous hair on that girl! Her style is great because it's totally simple and chic and achievable (she has worn 1 or 2 of my skirts/dresses on the show!). I actually don't think that the prices are too $$, but I have a really warped perspective. People seem to come up with a mix, like some Club Monaco (seems to be a fave), some other stuff.
I used to think they were sort of harsh before I got to "know" them, but now I see it's tough love. They're actually sort of sweet.

oh, I totally aggree. But for me watching, I think I get more out of how do I look. For the person being made over, what not to wear is def. better!
Random story: I went to a wedding where Stacy and Clinton were guests (my friend works for TLC). Oh my God, Clinton is even funnier and cuter in person. I accosted him and we talked fashion while Stacy got loaded. She is super-cute too, and about 5 pounds soaking wet.
Anyway, love the show because of the friend connection, but I love Trinny and Susannah too. I love when they are on Oprah.
