How did you find ST?
Well, I used to post a lot on Luckymag.com's forum, and someone there was talking about ST and so I checked it out one day, and now I am obsessed! I swear I check ST every half hour from 9-5! I think it is so much better then Luckymag.com because we can chat about everything from style to jobs to entertainment to relationships. I think it's also a really nice advice and support group for women our age and everyone here is so nice and helpful!! Since I am changing jobs soon, I hope I will be able to post as much as I do now!! I will find a way!

Tell us more about the cards you design
I make mostly wedding invitations and stationery (save the dates, menus, programs). My first job was making my own. I wanted something other then the traditional (and no offense to anyone) boring white card with a flowery border and black script print invite. I wanted something that would be more of a keepsake. My invites were little booklets with 3 pages and a slot to hold the rsvp card and map. The front had a heart cut out that you could see our pic (same as my icon) through and underneath the heart it said Love in gold. The invites were made out of shimmery red cardstock. They were really pretty and I got lots of compliments. My FIL ownes a flower shop so he has been reccomending me and I have gotten several weddings and showers so far. I am hoping to do this from home when I have babbies (maybe in 2 years) so that I don't have to go back to work. But overall, it is really my passion.

How did you meet your hubby?
This story is kind of funny, but I love telling it. When I was a Junior in college I worked at California Pizza Kitchen and he also worked there. When I first met him I thought he was cute, but HATED his personality. He had just turned 21 and was really cocky and partied all the time. I thought he was so immature and into anything with legs and boobs. I had a bf at the time so he never asked me out. I moved to the city with my bf, but moved out a year later (another very long story... deadbeat boyfriend=very unhappy girlfriend is the gist of it). Anyway, when I moved back I went back to work there and he would always tell me he wanted to take me out. I always blew him off because I just figured he hit on all the girls he could. Well one day he got really serious and said " look, I really like you and want to get to know you so when you are ready let me know and I will take you to dinner". So I finally agreed. That dinner changed my life. I found in him a man I NEVER knew was there. He was amazing and had a lot of the same beliefes about life, family, future. After that we were inseperable and have spent maybe 5 nights apart since that day. (May 16th, 2003) He is my soul mate and the love of my life. I never knew a relationship could be this fun and wonderful and I thank God for him everyday of my life.

Where are you from orig? I am from Chicago Heights. I have always lived in Illinois. We moved from C.H. (because it turned into the ghetto) to Cary (NW suburbs) when I was 6 and I am a suburbs girl through and through. I love having a driveway and a yard and not having to pay to park ANYWHERE! But I did live in the city for a year and it was pretty fun. Opps, my ride is here for the Cubs game so I will continue tomorrow!! Go Cubs!

OK, I am back and the Cubs did not win, surprise, surprise!  but it was fun anyway.  I went with my mom and dad and hubby. 

 Where did you go to college?

I went to the Illinois Institute of Art Chicago.  I got a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communications.  (Graphic Design mostly.)

What are your hobbies?

I have always been a dancer.  Much more seriously when I was in Junior High and High School, now I just take a class now and then.  I was in a musical, Chicago, at a theatre in Woodstock 2 years ago and it was such an amazing experience.  I am going to try out for Sweet Charity in the Winter.  I don't like to sing as much, I guess I am alright at it or they wouldn't have cast me in a musical, but I love to dance!  I would say that and making invitations are my hobbies. 

Do you cook, what is your favorite meal to make?

I cook now and then.  I will have more time to now that I will be getting home at 4:30 instead of 6:45!!  I love to make spagetti and even though I make it with Ragu, it's still damn good!  I really like to make cookies that have been in my family for a long time and chocolate covered pretzles at Christmas time.

Favorite flower: Purple rose. 

Biggest pet peeve: people who get drunk and act like idiots.  I had a falling out with my best friend because all through high school and college she was a drunk slob and didn't think there was a problem with it.  I always had to babysit her and make sure she didn't go off with some random guy.  I will never know why people think it is fun to get trashed and forget everything you did and barf all morning.  Not my cup of tea.  I do drink, but moderatly. 

Paper or plastic: I guess plastic cause from years of living in apartments, you want to make the least ammount of trips from the car to the apt., so fitting as many of those things as I can at a time on all my fingers has become a challenge I gladly accept! 

Favorite Meal: One word, THANKSGIVING.  Never have more types of food come together to taste so good with gravy smeared all over every last bite!!  I just really love every dish associated with Thanksgiving and sometimes I make my mom fix all of it for Sunday dinners cause I can't just have it once a year!

what were you like in High School?

I loved High School!  They were the funest times of my life.  I was a cheerleader for our foot ball team and it was such a blast.  My best friend was also a cheerleader and we did everything together!  My other best friends were not at all into sports and they partied a lot, so in the off season I partied and got into trouble with them.  Not bad trouble, just innocent girly trouble.  I also ALWAYS had a boyfriend and was a pretty big flirt.  High School for me was just very careless (I didn't really get great grades, average) but it was so fun and shaped who I am today. 

Favorite Baby names

Well, following my need to overplan things, my husband and I have already named our two future children!  Our daughter will be Alexis and we will call her Lexi, and our boy will be Xavier and we will call him X.  If we have 2 boys or 2 girls I guess we are screwed!! 

Describe your favorite fashion style and favorite outfit

I am very comfortable in jeans and a cute top.  But I also like to get dressed up.  I think black and white together are really classy and you can never go wrong with them, so I usually stick with black or white bottoms and add color with tops or accessories.  I have been cursed and blessed with huge boobs, (I hate them, hubby loves them) so sometimes I have a very hard time finding clothes that fit well.  I love PINK like I said before.  I think my favorite thing to wear right now is my black gauchos with layered, colored boy tanks with wedge shoes.  In the winter I love getting the same boots in black and brown and pairing them with everything.  I liek to wear fun jewelry with certian outfits, but every day you can find me wearing princess cut stud earrings and matching neclace.  I think they go with anything and are simple and timeless.  It's CZ for now, but maybe for the anniversary hubby will get me real ones.

What will your life be like in 25 years?

Well, I will be 50 then so hopefully I will be celebrating my 25 year anniversary at a big party thrown by Lexi and Xavier, my 2 children. Hopefully they will be in college and hubby and I can get a boat and spend our days sailing away and basking in the sun, then we will come back when we have grandbabies!

I have a white 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer that I love! It is a really cute car and my first car with air conditioning!

If I could live anywear in the world it would be probably colorado or somewhere in the mountains. I really love secluded places with the whole log cabin feel with tons of windows. We go on a lot of vacations like this and they are so peaceful and quiet. Somewhere overlooking a big lake! I love sitting out in frot of a fire and looking at the stars. I also love the snow and when it snows on the mountains. I think being in nature really calms me.

I talked about my pet before, but forgot to tell you her name. We call her Meg for short but her full AKC registered name is A Dash of Nutmeg ( cause of all her brown spots. )

My favorite stores to shop at are New York and Company (shop there once a week sometimes!), Limited, Express, and any department stores cause they always have good deals. I also like Old Navy for cheap, laid back clothes.
