I would think so, because the width at the bottom would balance out the um..."pear" part above it. *s* I'd just keep the top a bit more body-conscious so the whole outfit doesn't end up just looking sloppy.

I like the pants, BTW, and I'm not a fan of the gaucho / cropped look in general.

i am a "pear" shape (i hate that term though!) and wear gauchos ALL The time because i feel they "balance" me out!

They will create a straight line from the hips.  I don't know what kind of pants you wear but I imagine that when you wear a wide straight leg pant you get the same effect of balancing out your curves.
