Predicting Colors for Seasons

Flower/Fashion Color related Q:

I went to visit a florist today and he told me that the new colors for next Spring will be Champagne and Peaches....that Pink and Green were big last year....then he said that all the colors are set for the next 5 years.

I have heard of this with fashion, where can I got to see what the colors will be for the next few years? Is this something that sounds like a bunch of crap for flowers and clothes? Just curious.

Hmm that's weird. I've never heard that with flowers but I'm no florist. Anyways, I don't think it would be hard to find pink and green flowers though. Those colors are pretty common. You have to have pink and green!

I saw this on some random TV show - apparently, there is a big fabric convention twice a year somewhere in France. All the designers go to it a year or two before their collections are shown. It's at this fabric convention where all the "trends" and hot colors for the next few years are determined. It's something that I completely would not have believed unless I saw it myself.

You probably have to be and insider to know what's going to be "in" in the next few years. Isn't that crazy?!?!

I have seen that also.

I saw that too!  It's so weird to think these fashion insiders have picked out all of the colors we'll be wearing in the next few years.

I have no idea where you can go to see what the colors are though.

hmmm...it's kind of a weird and unsettling idea but it doesn't make sense, so I wouldn't be surprised. I mean, how else would they all be so "coordinated" in terms of trends and colors?

It's true. On the jewelry message boards I visit, discussions about colors & trends always resurface from time to time.

Interesting - I'm disturbed that your potential florist told you that pink & green were "big last year" - is he trying to sway your color decision? That would aggrivate me, but maybe it's just me.... I mean really, it wouldn't be a chic wedding unless it was pink & green.....

I am not swaying from my pink and green so no worries there. I also decided that I didn't want to hire this guy. Everyone does seem to be doing pink and green and peonies all over the knot and that makes it less exciting for me. I want to do it really different and cool so I can get myself in a bride magazine. Oh and they can still get whatever flowers I want, so don't worry about that either.

I had heard that colors were predicted for fashion, but I didn't know what it would be the same for flowers...?
