So, I'm trying to be more high maintenance...

I'm usually just a wash and wear kind of girl, but sometimes I feel little straggly.  So, I'm trying to be a little more high maintenance, but not crazy high maintenance.

So, what hair products would you all recommend.  I have super-thick, very wavy hair.  But it also is very easy to straighten as well.  So, what kinds of products would you recommend for when I wear my straight? Or wavy?  Right now, all I use is John Frieda Ocean Waves. I'm terrible.

I have curly hair that tends to frizz when it's humid (which seems like everyday), and I swear by this stuff:

PHYTO Phytodefrisant, Botanical Hair Relaxing Balm

It's phyto phytodefrisant.  I used to mix it with a hair gel too, but discovered this works great on its own.  You can get it at drugstore.com or Nordstrom.

I cannot live without my Biosilk. I have thick, loose curls that fall to my midback and I use their serum and their glazing gel to get rid of frizz and boost shine. The combination of products is great and after continued use your hair texture begins to improve. The line is a bit pricey but the JCPenney salon will sometimes sell a package of the gel, the serum, shampoo and conditioner together for about $33 (which is cheaper than a large bottle of the serum sold separately so I stock up during those sales.) I believe they're still running the promotion right now.

I liked Biosilk, but my hair always felt dry, especially at the ends.  Well, turns out they put ALCOHOL in their products.  Eek!  So I had to stop using it...

I have super thick hair, and I blow dry every day.  I have tried Redken Heat Treat, Aveda Brilliant, and this other heat protection stuff.  My favorite is the Aveda Brilliant heat damage protection stuff.  It makes me hair soft, and not as frizzed.  You can also buy the serum for shine, but I haven't tried it.  Redken also makes a spray called So Long that is a little heavier on the moisturizers, and if your hair is really dry, you might want to try that.  The SA said that it ways down the hair a little though.

My hair is like yours, really thick and wavy, and honestly I think it looks best when I wash and wear.  Right now I only use Frieda Ocean Waves and Beach Blonde Dream Creme.  Nylabelle - I think you recommended both of those to me and I love them.  Thanks!

I do straighten sometimes, but I find that look a little too severe for summer.  When I straighten, I skip the Ocean Waves and just use the Dream Creme.  It works great to sleek things out either laying straight or in a sleek pony of bun.

Yeah, I still have some dream cream sitting around my house. I've just gotten so lazy this summer, probably b/c I needed a haircut sooooo bad (which I got the other day). I went to visit my mom, who hauled me off to the salon b/c my hair was such a wreck.  So, I lopped three inches off, got lots of layers and side swept bangs and now my hair is back to it's normal, happy self!
