I'm walking only 2 days out of the week for about 35-45 minutes, I walk 2 miles everytime. I'm also watching what I eat (my calories). Will walking just for 2 days help with me losing weight? I know I should be doing more cardio but I'm even happy and surprised with what I'm doing now. I dont have a gym near me or else I'd be in there 4 times out of the week. I perfer the gym than the outdoors, sad huh.

doesn't sex count as cardio?

I dont care to do that much either, but its something to add to my cardio list right?

for the record, I'm in my late 20's and I dont care to have sex. There was a topic like this in General Chat. Okay, I'll shut up now.......

Anything is better than nothing. It all depends on how in shape you are. Are you truly pushing yourself? If you are-great. If your not, it's time to really step it up. I think weights are just as, if not more important that cardio. Buy some 10lbs weights and do a short lift program before you walk. One day upper body, next day lower. Bicep curls, tricep kickbacks, shoulder press etc. Then lunges, squats, calves raises etc. When that gets easy make sure you increase your weights. HTH!

I agree anything is better than nothing.  When I first made a commitment to exercise I started out walking for 45 minutes 5 days a week.  Now I have been working out 5 or 6 days a week for about 10 years.  To get benefits out of your workout you have to challenge yourself.  Make sure you are working hard when you walk.  If you do this for a while, eventually your body will get used to it and you will have to switch it up.  Like Jen, I think the benefits of weights cannot be understated and don't be afraid to lift heavy--we are girls we don't bulk up.  For years I was doing massive amounts of cardio without much benefit and it wasn't until I started really lifting that I saw the real changes in my body.  Maybe I am crazy, but I love my workout time its my time for me, to challenge my body and push it to its limits.

I am a firm believer than any time no spent as a couch potato counts.

However to get the most of your walk, you could buy a weight vest. It's the same idea as ankle weights, except the vests are heavier, and don't strain your limbs.

Also, you could add some intervals. Like every block or so, run the last 2 houses. It doesn't have to be a fancy system, just kick it up a notch for a few seconds to get your heart rate up.
