So I had a few gift cards and decided to stop by the Gap yesterday. I saw a pair of Trouser jeans on display and thought they were so cute. So I grabbed a pair and tried them on - they are PERFECT. There darker then they appear here, they came in Ankle length (petite) in the store, so there the PERFECT length. And best of all they were only $39!!!! All Gap jeans are on sale for $39. I never wear anything but Citizens but I was wanting another style and I found it with these. I ordered a pair of True Religion Joeys that should be here Friday, but I've got a feeling they'll go back. I doubt they could fit as well as these....
They also have cute back flap pockets that are in the perfect spot!
Then I came accross these tops, which I never would have looked at twice online. But I tried them on and they fit perfectly (not too short, I hate short tops) and they look so cute with a longer came (plain or lace trimmed) underneath. I got these two color and a Dark Turquoise (isn't online). I think I'll go back and pick up the black and brown. They were only $12.50!!
Rar210, I bought those same Gap jeans! They are really cute! I also bought another pair - the Ultra Low Rise Stretch Curvy or some such. They have much cuter, non-grandma back pockets than the usual Gap jeans, and I got both pairs for like $75. (At my Gap, the trousers were on sale for $29 instead of $39). Like you, I was excited to have something new to work into my jeans rotation (I always wear Joe's).
(Oh, but isn't the Gap vanity sizing insane?)

Wonder why the price difference. These are the Long and Lean Trousers. They had another pair of Trouser Jeans on sale for $29, but they didn't fit me the same. Oh well, I would have paid even more!!
i was just about to write about gap shopping too! i agree those jeans are great, esp the fact that they have ankle length which is the perfect length, no need to alter them! i bought the original style in the dark wash. i havent bought a pair of gap jeans in a long time, but on a whim decided to try them on again. perfect!! i also bought a black ruffle sleeve too, so cute.
I was wondering what size are you in other brands and what size are you in GAP. I am trying to see b/c lately their sizes have been off to me, and I was wondering if it is just me.
rar210 - great finds! I'm glad you posted them because I have a bunch of coupons for Gap to use. Did you happen to notice if the jeans you bought came in Long length too?
Also - has anyone tried their new fit jeans - the curvy, original, and straight? The originals look really nice. Just wondering if anyone's tried them on?
i'm not rar, but i bought the gap jeans in a size 6. for me, if the jeans are pretty low cut, which the ones i bought are, then i need a 6, my hips are too big, but if they are a little bit higher cut, then sometimes i can get away with a 4. i have a pair of ae jeans, and i wear a 4 in those, i fond that the designer jeans, (Sevens, CoH, etc) run a little bit smaller, and are always too long for me, and i hate altering/hemming jeans.
edit***i bought the original, in the new cury, original, straight, and they are WONDERFUL. so much better than any 200 dollar pair of jeans. i love how they are the perfect length and they have a nice little detailing on the pocket, which i need to help minimize my backside. also the wash is pretty nice. reallllllly great for the price. hth!

I tried on every pair of jeans in the store yesterday, so I can offer a full report.
Based on their descriptions, I thought I should get the "straight" fit, because my hips are pretty square, but the "curvy" fit the best. However, my friend who has a tiny waist and wide hips also loved the "curvy" so I think it's a versatile style. I'm 5'7" and the average length was perfect on me. The "long" (they do come in long) was about 6" too long. I was shocked at how long "long" was. So tall girls, take note! The original boot cut or whatever it is wasn't as nice to me - it didn't have much stretch and sat too high on the waist.
Kel - I consider myself a Size 8. I wear a 29 or 30 in Joe's, Citizens, Sevens (depending on how much stretch). But lately I'm finding that at Express, Banana, and Gap I am a 6. I don't know if this is unusual, or if it is just b/c I am starting to shop more at these stores than I have in the past. This past trip to Gap, I bought one pair in a 4 and the other in a 6. That is why I made the comment about vanity sizing. For me, buying a 4 is unheard of.
