Good morning ladies. I am going on a cruise with my husband (that is still weird to say) early next month from NY to Bermuda. I need you guys to give me a shopping list of clothes I am going to need to take with me.
First, you are so lucky - Bermuda is one of the MOST beautiful places. I have never been on a cruise, but I was in Bermuda in August a few years ago, and here are some tips:
- People dress up for dinner, so i would pack a few skirts and/or a casual dress, strappy sandals.
- Day-wear is totally casual - shorts, tees, bathing suit with a sarong.
- If you can, rent a scooter!! It is such a fun way to see the island and visit different beaches. It's a challenge to ride one in a skirt, but you'll see everyone do it.
- Save room in your suitcase for shopping purchases! I brought back some cashmere sweaters, perfume and a beautiful print by a local artist.
i haven't been to bermuda, you are a very lucky girl! But I did go to jamaica and I must say, the one thing that I brought on a whim that i was SO glad i did was my tennis shoes. We walked a lot & I have to assume if you are going on day excursions you will too - so that is my tip - COMFY SHOES.
Other than that, if I was going on a cruise, I'd be in a bathing suit with very comfy stuff over it - like those juicy - type dresses (don't know what else to call them) - sorry to the authentic Juicy people, but I personally won't spend that much on something like that, so I got a few at "teen" place like Body Shop & Charlotte Russe.
I also have some linen drawstring pants from Target that I swear, they are my best summer purchase yet!
Do you have any of the prairie skirts or gauchos? Like these? They seem really casual / comfy / yet like you have on a "real" outfit if that makes sense?
I agree that you need to dress up at night - I use any excuse to dress up these days
Have so much fun - when are you going?
