I don't really mean beach lit, not light, girly reads.  I guess sort of dark books set during the summer or at a beach- I like coming-of-age stories about messed up and isolated people.  I especially love surfers. ha!  I read this a few summers ago and liked it (I was younger though- not sure how good it actually is.)

and I like francesca lia block books too, they are very easy to read though.

my fave flb book is her weetzie bat collection! i used to love reading her stuff. (actually i checked out this very book from the library last week!)

actually, to make a recommendation, i loved:

body of a girl, by leah stewart

it's a "summer mystery" of sorts. a bit off the wall, but i think it's a real page turner!
