What to do with my hair??

I need a haircut and a dye job. I've been letting it grow out from the horrendous Bleaching Incident of 2003.  I know I don't want to chop it (been there, done that, it was horrifying!).  I'm thinking just a bunch of layers and some long bangs, but I don't know what color to do. I would like to go lighter (not darker, please).  Color suggestions?

LOL @ The Bleaching Incident. I have had a few of those myself. You are so pretty, though -- you look so much like one of my students from last year.


What about some gold highlights and then some darker lowlights, a la Carrie in the last season of SATC? (Sorry the pics are huge!)






I like Rosie's idea, too -- I am all about bangs these days.
