I don't that suede is the problem. I think that that color combined with suede cheapens the look. For example, a rich chocolate brown suede looks great, but I think lighter colors with suede can be tough.

Phew! I just bought a dark brown suede pea coat this weekend (thrift store find), which I thought would be great for fall. For a minute there I thought it was faux pas & was about to condemn it to the Goodwill box.

I think it's a little boring. Seems very predictable. Like the color, but would like it better in something else.
