LONDON -- Jude Law publicly apologized to his fiancee, actress Sienna Miller, expressing his "sincere regret" over an affair with one of his children's nanny.


"Following the reports in today's papers, I just want to say I am deeply ashamed and upset that I've hurt Sienna and the people most close to us," the 32-year-old actor said in a statement Monday to the British Press Association.


"I want to publicly apologize to Sienna and our respective families for the pain that I have caused," said Law, star of "Alfie" and "The Talented Mr. Ripley" films.


The publicity firm that represents Miller told The Associated Press the 23-year-old actress had no comment on Law's statement.


Miller was Law's co-star in the remake of "Alfie." The couple became engaged on Christmas Day 2004.


The nanny was identified as Daisy Wright, 26.


Law divorced fashion designer-actress Sadie Frost in October 2003 after a six-year marriage and three children.


The actor earned Oscar nominations for his roles in "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and "Cold Mountain." His screen credits also include "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow," "Closer" and "The Aviator," all released in 2004.

I was JUST going to post about this! Sorry, but men, movie stars or not, are selfish, horny, assholes!!! Why is it that the men of hollywood who have the like most fabulous, hot hollywood girlfriends/wives always cheat with like the maid or some hooker?????? If I was married or dating, say, Orlando Bloom and we lived in our fabulous mansion and lived fabulous lives I would not be like "Oh, Orlando is great, but I really want to have an affair with the guy who washes our toilets!!" What was he thinking??? Men are just the biggest jackasses!!!

That's what I was thinking too- that he cheated on Sadie Frost with Sienna (I don't know why I think that, I think I read it somewhere?) I mean c'mon, the guy cheated on the woman that had his 3 kids! I hope he learns someday, if ever.

My newspaper had an extended version of this article and said Sienna was spotted in London without her ring on...

I am oretty sure I also read that he cheated on Sadie with Sienna.  Either way, this guy needs to learn to keep his pants on.  I wonder if Sienna and him will break up?

I'm so sick of these Hollywood types and their stupid meaningless relationships! What is they say? 'Life imitates art?'  Wasn't his character in Closer a bit of a cheater?  I could be wrong b/c I didn't see the movie, but that's what I deduced from the previews.  Jude sucks.

Hahaha...silly me, it's "art imitates life." Sorry, I wrote then when I wasn't fully caffeinated.  See what happens when I don't get my coffee?  Not pretty. 


But, as our buddy Jude has demonstrated, this statement is competely true. Men suck!!! They just suck!

Wow tons of male bashing. I just wanted to say that not all men suck. I love my SO and he has been nothing but loyal and faithful so far, and I would like to think positively about the future. Certain men definitely suck (i.e. Jude).

I personally dont feel sorry for Sienna. If he cheated on the mother of his kids with you, what  else do you expect?  Obviously he has a problem.

I agree with you ShanKel. Obviously he wasn't worried about his first wife. I really don't feel sorry for her if the rumors were true and she is the reason he divorced his first wife. Karma will come back to get you everytime! I think she is a fool if she stays with the cheating jerk though!

My mom was telling me that she was watching one of those morning shows and they said his son walked in on him and the nanny and that is how it all got let out.  How awful!!
