help me decide what to do...

I found this Tahri bag at TJ's for a steal.  I told myself if the project I'm doing continues to move forward, and I make what I project I will, I keep the bag. If the project stalls then I return the bag.  I'll know on Friday.  But now I'm thinking maybe I just keep it and pay myself back with my Birthday $$...
I think the bag is beautiful, but what do you think?  It's a little richer than the photos, with peppled leather and a pretty chain stap.

This is too weird!!!  I bought the same bag and told myself if I hit my exercise goal I could keep it and if I didn't I'd have to return it.

Exercise Goal = Failed.
I'm now trying to tell myself I can keep it.  I mean I'm the only one who knows I'm Fibber McGee!  I'm also telling myself to return it so I won't be a Fibber McGee.  So far the only negative pushing me to return is the length of the crossbody strap.

Oh - keep it :)

Well I think it depends: did you tell yourself that you could keep the bag as a personal reward for doing your job on time, or did you tell yourself you could keep it because you only feel comfortable with the pricetag if you have X amount of income?

In situation 1, I say you have to return it if you didn't reach a personal goal, because it sounds like having to return it is supposed to be your "punishment" for not finishing on time.

In situation 2, I say you get to keep it if you use your birthday money because that is a bonus on top of your normal income and is supposed to be used for fun things you want!

Kelly, it's situation number 2. I am ahead of schedule on my project, and I'm supposed to get a pre-payment on the order. So either I'd be using my profit from the advance, or my Bday money...both are actually bonuses on my normal income I guess .
I guess I was trying to feel out if the bag was REALLY a keeper more than anything else, kwim?

Ah well then I'm no help. I have close to zero opinions about bags unless they are majestically beautiful or insanely ugly. The purse I use most now, I got for free. And I've been carrying it for probably about 5 years now. If that tells you anything wink.gif

I think it's beautiful! It's a classic color and the style is interesting but not trendy (IMO) so I think it'll last for years. It also looks pretty versatile - it can be cross-body (which I love!!!) or worn over the shoulder - so that's a huge bonus in my book. If it's not too heavy and fits your lifestyle I'd say keep it.

Sometimes when I'm not sure if I want to keep something I put it away and if I keep thinking about it and wanting to wear it, it's a keeper if I'm just meh about it then back it goes.

I still think you should keep it. Just as long as you love it.
