It's sterling silver and that's a real gemstone (dyed jade, I presume?). I can understand the markup on it. It might seem expensive for what it is, but given the cost of materials and a fair markup beyond just "doubling the cost of materials" (which is NOT a good way to determine what something should be priced), makes it seem reasonable to me.

I don't own any pieces myself but I've bought several of the wishbones as gifts, which were very well received. My bestie has the little pearl necklace - she wears it a lot and hasn't had any problems with quality. It's not janky jewelry at all and I think if you really like the necklace, then go for it :)
