So I picked this up yesterday with Old Navy's 30% off coupon, but now I'm going back and forth as to whether I really want this dress. It's cute on, fits well, and I like the colors, but for some reason I keep thinking it looks "too young" for me. I'm 26 and would only wear it on the weekends during the spring/summer but what do you guys think? I  know plaid is a big trend right now but is this too young looking??

I also thought it would look cute with a denim jacket and wedges.

I don't think it's 'too young' at all!  Just don't wear flat mary janes and pigtails in your hair and you're good to go!

Neutral accessories would probably make it look more "adult"  I think it's fine though.

Oh girl.. if you are already thinking that way, you are gonna regret it when you are 36 and still looking great... wishing you had lived it up in your 20's with the young girl clothes!

I'm 34 and I spent the first half of my 10 yr marriage (I'm divorced now) wearing conservative boring clothes just because I was afraid of looking too immature.

And I would wear this, in a very casual setting and with some tame cardi and nice sandals, but I so would...

Ditto. 26 is young!

This reminds me of my last birthday (30) which occurred four days after SO's brother's fiancee turned 21. We had a joint family party (with his mother who turned 60 three days before my birthday). 21-year-old walks into the party, someone says "happy birthday" and she says, "I 21. I'm so old." W.T.F???? Yeah. But with that attitude, she kind of is old. She acts older than I do and I can only think of how when she's my age, she's going to look back and regret not being young and stupid while she could get away with being young and stupid.

You're young (so am I!)- have fun with it!

That is really great advice.  I am turning 26 in June and it scares me dearly because I'm like so many others that feel like I'm getting "so old".  You're right...I need to live my 20's up as a 20 something and not worry about the number!  Thanks for opening my eyes! smile

ETA: LoMish - I agree with the others.  I don't think the dress looks too young.  It's a really cute casual summer dress!
