Color Pairings
Permalink Closed

Okay ladies, I didn't know where to post this but thought it would see the most action here (admins, feel free to move the post if needed).

I would love to know your favorite color pairings - like pink and brown, orange and green...I am getting ready to stock up on colored gemstones again for my jewelry designs, and need some help with sophisticated color groupings. So please feel free to post your favorites to inspire me!

My favorite thing to do is combine three different colors---one as the base, another accent and just a hint of the third.

Here are some of my favorites:

  • Pink, brown and aqua
  • Pink, brown and coral (or orange)
  • Aqua, blue and green
  • White, brown and orange (or coral)
  • Purple, orange and pink
  • Purple, green and aqua

As far as pairings of just two colors, here's what I like:

  • Pink and brown (duh!!!)
  • Brown and aqua
  • Brown and black
  • Purple and teal
  • Teal and brown
  • Purple and red
  • Orange and turquoise
  • Emerald green and sapphire blue
  • Purple and green
  • Light pink and green

Can you tell that I like brown with everything?? Anyway, those are just some of my ideas. HTH!!

love, love, love black and white.

I've gotten so many things black & white lately that it's probably gonna be my fall colors.

Glad to hear that someone else likes purple and red also!  I would wear purple and red layering tees a couple summers ago and my friends always gave me a weird look.  Maybe I will actually bring them out of the drawer to wear again.

Thank you ladies, you all rock!  I am printing these out for reference when I go stone shopping in a few weeks.  I feel like I always fall back on the same color combos that I *know* work, but I'm itching to branch out a bit more. *s*

I really have nothing to add because I am so boring with my color scheme, but this is a great thread, thanks so much for posting it!!! I am going to use it for reference also - lots of ideas that I usually wouldn't try. I might be able to pull together some things that I have in my closet now in different ways - what a novel idea!
