In need of an original NYC idea!

Here are some Brooklyn ideas:

You could head out to the Grand Army Plaza area where the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Brooklyn Museum and Prospect Park are. The gardens are beautiful and you can rent paddle boats in Prospect Park!

If it's not too hot or raining you could walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. Once in Brooklyn you could walk along the promenade which has amazing views of Manhattan. You could have lunch and then go to Jacque Torres' shop for dessert. Then you could just hop on the subway back to Manhattan.

Even if you don't like amusement parks, Coney Island is a lot of fun. There are 2 really old and famous rides (the Wonder Wheel and the Cyclone roller coaster) plus an old time freak show and games plus the beach and the NY Aquarium is right nearby.

I'll try to come up with some other ideas. What sort of things do you guys like to do?

This is touristy, but I think the Central Park Zoo is so much fun. Even if he's done it before, it's always great to see the animals.

Also, El Museo del Barrio (in spanish harlem) is interesting if you're into Latino culture/art.

CC, thanks for the Brooklyn ideas. My SO doesn't know Brooklyn at all, so it would be cute to treat him to a nice lunch/dessert while there. And perhaps we can do some exploring in Brooklyn prior to our show. At first we wanted to go to Coney Island, but we figured it would take an entire day. We have promised to meet up with so many friends/family so Coney Island isn't too feasible.

As for other things we like to do: we both love film, we love "exploring" new neighborhoods (I guess like checking out independent shops (especially coffee bars, book shops, music stores)), and we really enjoy live music.
