On the advice of several stylethreaders, I bought some white jeans that I am going to crop myself to have that "rough edge" look - trouble is I'm not quite sure where they should hit me. I am not short or tall - 5 ft 7, and I know that right under the knee or right at my ankles are not particularly flattering - I just want to cut them right - I am so anal about this kind of stuff - suggestions? Any other pictures you want to share?
Do these look about right?
I think these are entirely too short!
I like the look of these, but does this length work because these particular crops are cuffed?
I just don't want to look stubby or to make my calves look wider than they already are....

maybe I'm a "don't", but I am the same height as you, and I wear cropped pants at pretty much any length, including all the pictures you posted. The only ones I avoid are the ones that hit right above the ankle, b/c those make me look like I've outgrown my pants.

You also have to look at the shape of the legs. For instance, in the first picture you posted, the legs are full and gradually widening, while in the last, they are narrow and look pretty straight. Fuller legs should be a bit shorter, otherwise they do look like you've outgrown them, but straighter ones (or ones that narrow near the bottom) can be almost any length, as long as you get at least two inches above the ankle bone.
I wear mine whatever length I feel like. I'm 5'6" and I have pretty long legs, but I've found that most lengths work. I don't think that there are any hard and fast rules, just wear what looks good on you.
