concerned about Paypal

I received the following information from PayPal at my work email address. It concerns me because my credit card has NOT been lost as they are saying in this message.  I am also concerned because the link they sent me did not work and there are some misspelled words in this message. I found the mistake in the link--it started out "https:// " instead of "http"//" and when I fixed it, I went directly to paypal.   Do you think this message is legitimate?  I am concerned because it was sent to my email address at work and I never gave that address to them.  When I have purchased items through paypal, they always respond to my home email address.  What should I do?

It is a fake email. Go to Pay pal fake email page and report it. They will send you back an email confirming that the email was not from them.

I got one pretty similar to the one you got. They sent it to my school email address which I never use for paypal, so I figured it was a fake. I alereted pay pal of it and they sent me back an email in about 2 hours.

I get these ALL THE TIME - especially when I post new items or bid on ebay - you can read about spoof emails in the ebay help section - they will tell you exactly what emails from them (or paypal) look like - basically these people can't /shouldn't be able to access your data without your passwords, which is what they will get if you respond. As with any credible financial institution, they will never ask you to provide this kind of info via email. It's always a scam.

My favorite is when they spelled "May" "M-A-I" on mine - i usually respond back to these with a "stop sending me these fraudulent emails you jerk, I have reported you to ebay" & I get back messages saying they were undeliverable. Go figure.

Never click the links on these e-mails.  They can infect your computer with viruses and spyware!  Just ignore them.  Replying to them is not a good idea either.
